How this site works.
Last updated: April 2026. The Atlantic Companion is run by ideapath (a sole trader based in Ireland). Using the site means you're OK with what's below.
The guide is curated
We hand-pick what goes in. We don't list every café, pub or B&B on the route — by design. We choose what we think genuinely helps a visitor, and we keep the lists short. We may decline a listing, edit copy for tone or accuracy, or remove a listing if circumstances change. Editorial decisions are ours.
Free listings — always free
If we list you, you get a directory entry written from a conversation with you. Free, no expiry, no auto-renew, no upsell — there is no paid tier and nothing on this site is for sale. If you'd like us to remove your listing, email us and we will, usually within a few days.
Featured picks
We feature a small handful of places per region — the ones that keep coming up in genuine reviews, on Google and from people who live there. Featured picks are editorial only. They cannot be bought, sponsored or upgraded into.
QR cards
The downloadable A5 QR cards are free to print and use, as many copies as you like, on the premises of any business on the route. The artwork is ours — please don't redistribute the PDFs as your own or use them for unrelated promotion.

Words and photographs on this site are ours unless credited otherwise. Photos used with permission of the businesses pictured are credited on the relevant page. Don't republish without asking. Quoting a sentence or two with a link back is fine and welcome.
No guarantees
We can't promise visitor numbers, search rankings, or that being listed will translate into bookings. We do our best to send useful traffic. The rest is up to your place being good.
External links
We link out to maps, ferries, websites and the like. We can't control what those sites do or say. If a link is broken or wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
